Researchers at USDA-AIPL recently identified a ‘haplotype’ which affects fertility in Brown Swiss, another in Jersey and 3 in Holstein.  A haplotype is a group of SNP markers which are normally inherited together.  These groups of SNP markers are what are used for genomic calculations.  Each has a value, positive, negative or neutral for all the evaluated traits.
