?What Looks Good??
Fort Atkinson, WI

The answer to the most asked question by breeders

Many breeders—both foreign and domestic—have the same goal of breeding high-quality Brown Swiss cattle that not only look good but reproduce in a timely manner and excel in production. These are ideals we can all support and has always been the goal at New Generation Genetics: to help you produce the complete cow.

The most asked question while I am traveling on farms is “What looks good?”  Please read on to see highlights of both proven bulls that are succeeding in their second crop and also for young sires that are making a big impact with their first daughters fresh.

54BS438 BROOKINGS- Brookings is quickly becoming one of the most popular bulls in the breed and is now a mating sire for A.I. companies. His daughters might be the most consistent in the breed today. He excels in both fat and protein percents and pounds. His daughters have youthful udders, and strong fore and rear udder attachments. Brookings’ daughters exhibit lots of dairy strength and have very correct feet and legs.

54BS374 VIGOR- Vigor is now well into his second crop in both the U.S. and in Europe, proving that his initial proof was on-target with some improvements on his high index. Daughters are making solid records with strong components but the most talked about point is the fast milk out and the quality of the udder texture after milking. His daughters have phenomenal mammary systems with smooth fore udder attachments, high wide rear udder, deep creases and great teat size and placement. Stature is variant and seems to take a larger role from the Dam. Vigor daughters have excellent feet and legs, is great to use on high pinned cows and have good depth of body.

54BS456 WONDERMENT- More daughters are calving for the first time and through his unique usage there will always be more daughters coming in routinely. The newly fresh daughters are very dairy and clean-boned with great udder attachments. They also are producing at very high levels and “catch the eye” upon arrival to a herd.

54BS433 GALAXY- Production, Production and lots of dairyness. Daughters are excelling in the milk line with high production numbers. The calves have been excelling in the show rings because of their size, length and open rib. The cows have high rear udders with strong udder cleft.

 New Bulls making noise…

54BS440 DILLINGER (Premium x Arthurst Garbo Dixie) - This bull, with his first daughters fresh, is combining the best traits of both Dam and Sire. Daughters are tall and long-bodied with amble dairyness and style. Udders are well above the hocks and very strong in both fore and rear udder attachments. Teats are correctly placed and they exhibit good udder cleft. So far he is straightening feet and legs from both the side and rear view and are square and level through the rump. Production has been very solid on the initial daughters with good udder quality after milking.

54BS436 TOTAL (Legacy x Sunnyisle Colby Twilite) - The bull with lots of fan fare and anticipation has his first daughters just starting to calve. The few that are fresh currently are exhibiting great mammary systems. Udders are extremely youthful with high wide rear udders and smooth fore udder attachments. Daughters are deep and open ribbed, straight across the topline and very clean and refined boned. Production looks to be much better than his brothers that have more daughters fresh too.

54BS441 LADYSMAN (Dynasty x Little Hill Exclaim Lady) - Is adding more daughters each month and they are improvements over their Dams. Ladysman is adding depth and openness of rib and once fresh a couple months the daughters are really picking up in production.

54BS437 TORCH (Beamer x Cozy Nook Pronto Twilight) - Torch is producing the daughters that are going to excel in health traits. The daughters are making great records with high components but are breeding back very quickly making him a great option to improve DPR. They are balanced framed and have great feet and legs.

 Now on the Ground….

54BS467 GOLDWYN (Agenda x Bo Joy Ensign Glee) -            The first daughters of Goldwyn have been hitting the ground the past 2 months. Breeders rave about the stylish and dairy appeal to these calves and look for plenty in the show ring this upcoming year.
